Yes you gotta wear Sneakers, only Nike Adidas Sketchers and other sneakers that all look the same.
It's very strange. I've noticed that too. Old people seem to give up on themselves.

Most of them are probably on fixed incomes and just buy whatever is cheap, comfortable, and easy enough to get on and off. That would be my guess.

I started ditching sneakers and to wear oxfords. They last longer when taken care of and are „repairable”

This is the correct answer. Many are in fairly constant pain from neck to toes. Often mistaken for assholes as well because of this. The ones that are truly assholes were like that when they were young as well.
I've always asked myself that too 😅😅 I think it's the same answer as because twenty-year-olds are all dressed the same with the same haircut 🤦♂️😓😂
The unspoken rule seems to apply more to facial piercings, colored hair, and tattoos. In an effort to stand out and be unique, they all end up looking, talking, and acting the same. Throw the pronouns in there as well. Give the old fucks their shoes for Christ sakes. Lol 🤔
