Well, many in the bitcoin community seem to think it will and I’m curious what they are reading to think this. Id like to see the logic behind that thinking.

Unfortunately, lately I personally see more and more people believe this and similar without any reasoning just because they hope US collapse will pump bitcoin price
I understand the desire for change, but the belief in a total collapse and that somehow life will be better in that case, is a non starter for me.
I don't think it is good. That doesn't mean it won't happen and we shouldn't study to try to avoid it or figure out how to individually navigate it best.
Me too, but I gave up on that a while ago.
Calls to split the empire, which Rome did. Constant wars causing the military budget to expand so much they were forced to debase the currency. Government corruption. Increasing influence of Christianity over the government. Uncontrolled immigration. Collapsing economic opportunity and erosion of the Middle class.
Many are repeating a narrative they don't understand and can't explain. That doesn't mean the parallels aren't there.
