The problem is that each time you set up a new Nostr app, the default is that it generates a new private key. That's a great practice for your FIRST Nostr app... but then if you're not paying attention, you generate more than one private key, and that's bad. This is why in our guide we really try to nail in the point: Use just ONE private key: https://rizful.com/get_on_nostr_today
I haven't seen that as the case. Most ask you to sign in with an nsec.
Your first account?
Yeah, it was maybe October 2022 or so? I don't remember exactly.
Look how far you’ve come! 👏🏻
To be honest though, I used Nostr for a day, said wow this is bad, I'll never use this, and did not even try to save my private key. I didn't do any work or research into Nostr. A couple of months later, clients were better and it stuck!
Reset password.
I assume some day we'll see a client that manages user keys via a bunker and has this feature 🤣

how to back-up the nsec in the safest way
Using a password manager or a signing device or signing application as well as mnemonic words.
How do you avoid single point of failure for your nsec keys? at least for the BTC wallet you can memorise the words as a backup!
Nostr keys have mnemonic words as well, as long as your client supports them.
But yes, using a secure location to store your key is optimal, such as a password manager and a signing application or signing device.
i was totally that guy...... in 2021 😂
I think most OGs are on a second+ set of keys.
What if I logged into a few other clients with my private before learning that you shouldn't do that even though that's exactly how nostr is promoted?
I thought I lost mine because my Damus TestFlight app wasn’t working anymore (hadn’t used it in probably a year). Then I downloaded their regular app and it still had my keys in it . Lucky me
