Relay operators controlling content sounds like re innovation of the centralized social media that will lead to the censorship in the end
I could imagine the scenario where there are millions of relays and in this case they will be pretty big (bigger than personal/family ones) in this case operators would definitely want to control content. Would you be happy to host a relay where 90% of content is a pure rusian propaganda? Some would want to have personal choice what to host. Others would be forced by laws. Some will want to base content off economic activity
I think if there is a relay where the operator may afford not to care about content at all, it should be extremely small relay. In such case there should be hundreds of millions of relays in existence. Would be great but I can hardly imagine this scenarior

Well, I have my own views developed decades ago mostly and I consider them consistent across different topics/domains and it works for me most of the time.
And the fact that those views contradict views of 90% of loud majority on nostr who speak about social networks but have very limited experience there, only gives me confidence :)

We can put it simpler. If you claim that controlling content is “centralizing” and you don’t understand the mentioned example - I have no other conclusions to make rather than you are going to host a relay, regardless of what content will be stored there.
