Apropos of nothing, I think part of the reason I'm more comfortable sharing random things on nostr over Twitter (despite the inability to delete) is that there's this palpable but unspoken "agreement" that all of us on here are trying something new and organically respecting others' "journey" as well.

There are no rules or "positioning."

OR perhaps without algorithmic manipulation we're inclined to be more authentic?

I don't think out loud on Twitter. I (admittedly) fuel the rage machine at times.

On nostr, I'm sitting in a freezing pool on a 96 degree day contemplating my social media behavior and trying to decide if I'm annoying or if I even care, regardless.

WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE 🔥💦

makes sense to me

Worst thing that happened to me so far for a bad post was everyone ignored it.

I survived

Real is rare 💜

I spend several minutes contemplating, double-checking, and editing things before I post them on here.

Nostr has made me consider my words and their implications far more than rage-posting on Twitter.

Even so- I still make mistakes and say things I wish I didn’t. It makes us more human.

I love it.

I’m with you. Before nostr I’ve never participated publicly online, ever, with the exception of posting for close friends on instagram. I’ve never even published so much as a YouTube comment. It’s all brand new for me, but there’s certainly a more welcoming vibe here than anywhere else.

Totally agree with you, I didn't actively use social media until a year ago.

I tried to create a Twitter account and start connecting, but it was impossible.

Here in #nostr, I was able to find a social network of REAL people, not bots and spam, which makes it easier to connect and share ideas.

I agree with this sentiment 100%. Ironically, Twitter felt the same way in the beginning: a fresh new network, “microblogging” changing the face of media, a lot of talking about the platform and it’s implications on the platform and the beauty of 140 characters. Once it became mainstream, though, it changed into what it is today: a cesspool of rage tweets, ads, and bots.

I think right now there is a really cool group of people on nostr. Respectful of each other and generally with positive attitudes. It's actually more like hanging out IRL than twitter (IRL social dynamics at play). Maybe it's because we all met each other in Costa Rica :)

Regardless, we have to enjoy these times because It seems unavoidable that terrible people will show up and try to ruin it. Given that nostr is open development, I think some nostrich will figure something out.

No, it’s Uber

Resign.

Yes, NOSTR is a place of kindness and understanding. We understand that we all have opinions and we won’t always agree.

I also love the absence of all the pumping stuff. I’m sure their was plenty of “to the moon” pumping going on over at Twatter over the past few days. While I don’t know a lot about Bitcoin, I know enough to get in trouble 😂. There’s lot of sharing of knowledge and general encouragement here. This is the place to be. 🧡💜

I hope it stays this way. 🤙🏻

Cool 😎

History was written by the victors - now it’s captured on Nostr

💯

💯👍 I stopped posting on Twitter since a long time and was only a silent listener for many years.

On #Nostr I feel motivated again to participate in conversations, shitposting memes or play around with new features.

Dear Nostriches,

Thank you so much for bringing back the family vibe of the early Internet to me 🫂

totally agree
