Why are so many people in my feed anti lab grown meat?

You can’t spend any kind of time w/an animal and not see that they have just as much of a soul as you and I do.

I would love to be a vegan, but my health issues make that a horrible idea. I can’t want for the lab grown meat!

I respect your opinion, but the world is made up of almost 200 countries and thousands of cultures & beliefs.

accurate statement, but how is that relevant here?

What I mean is that many tribes only eat the way their ancestors have tought them to and would never consider eating lab-grown meat.

Concerning the vegan part, we mix veggies with meat/fish in our meals where I'm from.

it’s because 90% of the beef crowd are just reactionaries against the green/woke people. They don’t have internally consistent beliefs

so some people see lab grown meat as an extension of the green/woke movement and hate it for that reason alone??

Yes that’s a good way to put it. There’s the potential, I suppose, that once lab grown meet is available, things like natural raised meet will be marginalized. And that is kinda threatening.

Or one could view it as an extension of the processed food industry, which hasn’t been great for health.

It’s like the “I won’t eat the bugs” thing. I’m certain our ancestors ate bugs, they’re very nutritionally dense, and they could even be a way to be sovereign in your food production. But reactionary thinking does not lend itself to nuance.

I think you are right to some degree, I've been thinking a lot about this lately

Sometimes we think that being reactionary or having a believe that is not well grounded on data is something bad, I'm not so sure.

I think is an heuristic and as such it has it's flaws but can be of real use in cases when you dont have enough information or you need to act fast. Also for situations where the right answer is counterintuitive or come after some sort of point of no return has been reached. 🤔

In those cases even if it was just by chance, that strategy can be useful

Definitely, heuristics are really useful. If you think about it, the way your brain perceives is designed to increase “fitness” (in the evolutionary sense) and not to reflect truth or accuracy

Maybe because there is a portion of the mindset of a portion of bitcoiners that is instinctively reactionary to the WEF agenda and some of that that is now being pushed. 🤔

Also a lot of people also think that a lot of modernity is just trading one problem for several others (Nassim Talev*) even if we today didn't noticed the bad result of those choices.

Me personally I just dislike the fact that for the tieme being a lot of the people who wan't this are willing to impose it on society because they are convinced that their moral is right, absolutely right. I dont deny that some empaty in me recognices that animal have a soul to put it in your words, but I see our habit of eating animals as a part of nature itself, as a pack wolf who huntes other animals, just way more efficently.

At the same time I enjoy watching people exploring different practices and different sets of values, becaus I'm not 100% sure what is the right thing to do, so a lot of people trying a lot of different moral values is really informative as long as those are not imposed on others 🤔

* * *

Talev talkes about only consuming things that has been around long enough to prove themselves good enough (water, meat, cofee and some other stuff of that kind)

7 billion meat eaters is hellish amount of death. Especially the way we treat animals as products instead of people. Industrial slaughter is mankind's most disgusting element. All hidden behind the illusion of happiness. Was vegetarian for many years and strive to eat mostly meals that didn't have eyes.

I dont eat things that were invented.

lab meat is cool idea but they are missing the point, if we want to eat meat just eat real meat.

We are just organism trying to survive, and most of nutrient we need come from animal. We have to kill them in order to survive. Life is tough, accept and respect their life.

Should we not be trying to make the world a better place?

we should make the world a better place, but there is no other source of food than animal that has the most nutrient density.

lab meat is full of artificial ingredient, I'm sure its not as healthy as real meat.

To make the world a better place and to kill animal for survival is not the same topic.
