The Reason

One of the reasons I am running my own relay is to have intellectual debates primarily with Christians.

I think open discussion and talking about the Bible and other topics can benefit the body of Christ and those who want to know more about Jesus Christ in general.

I'm also looking forward to debate with athiests, unbelivers, agnostics, spiritual, those who believe in nothingness, in mediation etc...

Try to prove why you don't believe Jesus is the son of God, if it's worth my time or anyone elses. We will be glad to debate.

The Truth is:

Jesus is GOD.

Jesus in not just another Prophet.

Jesus is the only path to God.

No all religions don't lead to God.

You don't know God if you don't know Jesus.

There is an objective reality, it's not my reality and your reality.

Lets the intellectual debates begin.

See, the beauty of running your own relay is that you cannot get censored from your own server.

Discussion

Great stuff. I will join. Love these discussions/debates.

How can I join, please post the relay here.

Also not sure if I have to do something else once joined. Do just see the messages as normal or do I do something else to join the discussion?

Add the relay. Not sure which client you use. I think browsing 'Global' will show you more of those connected to that relay (along with any other relays your connected to).

I see you already added it. 😊

The Bible is full of contradictions and Jesus as god was created by Romans to replace their pagan ones

The Bible having contradictions doesn't make Christianity any less true. The belief in Jesus as God existed among early Christians before the Roman Empire adopted Christianity as its official religion.

The Romans were the ones who crucified Christ. Not sure what they would benefit from creating a Martyr story.

So, you say you want intellectual debate with Christians? Let's go a round.πŸ˜„

My mission is call the church to repentance and reform. Most churches are far more under the control of systematic theologies and creeds than focused on scripture.

Shall we see which, if any, of my assertions in this article you agree with?πŸ™πŸ«‚πŸ˜†πŸ˜β“

https://peakd.com/kingdom/@creatr/we-need-a-new-reformation

To be fair even Jesus own church was a disaster. Judas betrayed him and the others abandoned in his time of need.

The reformers did a lot of necessary good, but fell short and got some key things seriously wrong.

One tenet of the reformation was "semper reformanda," always reforming. The church has lost that vision.

Any good articles I can read. I honestly don’t know much about the reformation.

You'll have to judge the quality, and I will treasure any biblical feedback you may have, but here are links to what I consider my most important articles aimed at clarifying our understanding of scripture and the church:

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for caring.

More articles in the pipeline.

I struggle with clarity when trying to communicate these ideas, and so I welcome questions and absolutely treasure biblical feedback.πŸ™πŸ«‚πŸ˜πŸ’œπŸ˜†

I think you been pretty clear tbh.

You know way more than me.

I feel like a newbie Christian when I discuss/debate with you guys on nostr haha.

I'll always be a "newbie Christian." The more I learn about Jesus our Creator/God, the more I realize how much more I have to learn. And as often as I have had to revise my opinions in a more biblical direction in my life, the more humble I need to be.

"Iron sharpens iron,

So one man sharpens another."

- Proverbs 27:17

I need to stay humble and stack scripture.😁

I’d like to learn more about Mary Magdalene and the gnostic books about her.

I agree with all of your assertions. However, I don't believe that the Bible is the Word of God or that it is infallible. In this article you said: 'The bible describes itself as being alive.'

According to John 1, Jesus is the Word of God. The Bible never claims to be the Word of God and it would make more sense to interpret Hebrews 4:12 as referring to Jesus, as the Bible is neither living nor active, and it lacks the ability to judge the thoughts and attitudes of the heart, in contrast to Jesus

who embodies all of these qualities.

https://peakd.com/christianity/@creatr/the-shocking-truth-about-the-bible

The Bible does claim to be "God breathed", so it is straight from God and He is able to keep his words true, clear, and accurate.

Hey, nostr:npub1w695k9y6pv0fa5fz4xsljpnk4w5zk83xcmm92zt4dhzdtfl7waqsdz4wwu,

Glad as I am that you agree with my assertions, I'm doubly puzzled by your position.

The bible is *filled* with self-referential claims that it is the very words of God. Jesus himself repeatedly points out that the scriptures testify of and point to him. God's words (plural) are forever established in heaven. And so I struggle to understand how you can assert that "The Bible never claims to be the Word of God..."

I also am at a loss to comprehend your epistemology. If you don't believe the bible to be either God's word or infallible, what is your basis for knowledge of any kind? I'm honestly wondering. Are you purely a naturalist?

By the way, I'm very appreciative that you've read my article(s) (plural) and are interacting, but I wonder about the basis upon which you can be in agreement with me.

All scripture is God breathed, 2 Tim 3:16. Yes Jesus is the Word made flesh, but that does mean the written Word is not alive, in a sense.

Looking forward to this

Are you postmil? I agree with 90% of what you’re saying, but I would need some serious convincing/persuasion to believe that Romans 13 is primarily about ecclesiastical government and not civil government.

Hey Tom,

Just to get you "in the ballpark," I'm an amil shading toward postmil, but at the core I am a biblical theologian and those "labels" are very general. I've been hanging with postmils, but I don't accept the viewpoint entirely. Nevertheless, I daily pray for God's Kingdom to be implemented here on earth and I work toward that end while I wait (impatiently) for the second advent.

There are a number of "alternative" understandings of Romans 13. I don't claim to have 100% exegetical clarity on every detail in the chapter, but I am sure that the "standard" interpretation is wrong-headed. It just doesn't fit the overall teaching of scripture. This article is my best shot at explaining it thus far, or at least countering the prevailing view:

https://peakd.com/christianity/@creatr/the-curmudgeon-s-bible-what-are-the-governing-authorities-of-romans-13-1

As I've been working my way through the New Testament in Greek, I've become more and more persuaded that the book is principally a handbook for God's new/preferred form of human government. And that form is humanly decentralized, local congregations each directly reporting to Jesus as Chief Shepherd.

To "see" this requires looking at the NT through a different pair of glasses, as I've tried to describe in this article:

https://peakd.com/politics/@creatr/a-sola-the-reformers-missed-sola-ecclesia

I'm not asking you to believe/accept this yet; just consider the possibility, and please do argue against it, particularly if you bring scriptural ammo to bear.

Thanks for reading my stuff and discussing.
