Why do so many people insist there is one "correct" way for humans to eat? #asknostr

Because people tend to be binary thinkers and complexity is scary.
That's a great answer and something I really struggle with. I don't fit into a binary world very well.
BCUZ THEY THINK THEYRE RIGHT, AND BETTER THAN YOU
It does seem to be a matter of ego over truth.
Tribalism.
Aside from the "ego" aspect that was already mentioned, western science and medicine seems to seek "the one true answer". Western medicine pretends that all bodies are identical.
In reality, this would mean that everyone has the same metabolism; the same flora, fauna, and fungi in their digestive system; the same release ratio of all hormones.
Since the populace is innundated with this "all bodies are the same" concept from the medical industry, they often don the same hat without realizing it.
That's simply not true. All treatments are tested on a population sample, and the conclusions are about a certain confidence interval. Preciselly the posible side effects of any treatment is an aknowledgement that not all bodyes are exactly the same. It just works for the mayority of the people, so it the best course of action. But there is no guarantee.
Is like any other opinion. You are sure your opinions are right (otherwise your opinions will be different). You have reach theese conclusion and you can clearly see how the conclusions reached by the rest are wrong. You feel it in you bones that you are right.
The problem is that the rest of the people have the exact same feeling about they being right and you being wrong...
Maybe there is more than one right? And maybe what is right can change.
That's my point: there is no right. Your circumstances (esducation, past experiences...) makes your opinions valid for you and invalid for others in this specific moment. If your circumstances change (you receive new information in the form of different opinions or new experiences) your opinions might change, but the opinions of the rest of the world are changing as well. So it is imposible to reach a general agreement on what is unversally right or, in another words, there is no right
