When you donate books to a public library is it a guarantee that they will be added onto the shelves? My local library has a few Bitcoin related books already, but I want to donate some of books I have. Whats the best way to do this to ensure that they aren't just thrown away? #bookstr #asknostr

I'd openly ask the library if this is material they will use, and also which section they will put them in... general tech, cryptography, finance..?
Nope, definitely not guaranteed but if in doubt speak with the head librarian first. They are technically still gatekeepers of sorts but for the most part they want to make all information available to everyone as long as it fits with their mission. Every library is unique in how the collection will be managed.
Best advice ever given to me: "Never hand out a book and ever expect it back again."
...Only once one has decoded and absorbed the lessons of a good book, should they surrender it forever to the next.
