There are some scammers on Nostr impersonating me and posting sketchy links, just like on Twitter/X.
Stay safe out there.

It’s a jungle out there.
Nobody could accurately impersonate your humble swag 😉😌
Scammers are the worst.

I thought Lightning was going to free us from bots and scammers.

"I only use free-to-use relays!"
Maybe we should consider changing that.
if you report them as impersonator (kind: 1984) nostr.mom will slow them down.
People that speak truth to the bullshit get targeted by “scammers” to make potential followers distrust your influence.
Getting spammed by bots is a badge of honor. It means you’re doing something correct.
The imposters are missing the little badge Amethyst shows on people you follow. It definitely helps sort them out.

What about telegram links? Is it also scam?
Maybe this version of lyn is the scammer 🧐🫨
"safety third"
Doesn't matter here. We know it's the real you, and that can be verified and never faked, because there can be only one. They can spoof your name, but they can't spoof your nostr key.
Nostr NIPs seem to lack an OpenPGP-style web of trust. Signing your Nostr public key with your OpenPGP secret key might be helpful. OpenPGP has cool features such as non-repudiation and key revocation, etc. Personally, I like "Trust On First Use" (TOFU) approach. For instance, I might partially trust a "Satoshi" PGP Public key I saw back in 2008.. just like through TOFU idea. If I am not mistaken the TOFU idea was implemented on GNUpg in 2015.. here is the Original Paper https://www.gnupg.org/ftp/people/neal/tofu.pdf

You should verify your account with your website. I did it and it's not that complicated.
It is a weird angle, people who know you and your work wouldn't fall for some "Lyn Alden investment trading platform ™️"
Not entirely sure who the target market is, unless it's people who don't and only spend 30s of googling your name
Welcome to the Internet
Congrats Lyn, you've made it. You've reached the pinnacle where you even have nostr imposters
