Yeah. It’s basically KYC and denies access to people without one.

5.8 billion have mobile phones.
Leaving around 2.2 billion that are phoneless.
I bet they live amazing lives and have great community though.
Drives me crazy, and no practical privacy-maintaining solution in sight.
