Because I love text based apps. Never really occurred to me that such a thing exists.

Bad ass is a compliment 🤣

Meaning impressive or admirable

I don't know if it is just me, but I've using railway.com for a side project and I've been blown away by its power and simplicity. Amazing UX can absolutely give a winning edge to your product.

⚡️🧮 NEW - Vitalik has just mathematically proven that Bitcoin has done something that no one has ever done in the history of humanity.

And the implications are crazy ⤵︎

The Bitcoin network has collectively performed 79 OCTILLION calculations since 2009.

To visualize:

• Grains of sand on Earth: ~10^18

• Atoms in your body: ~10^28

• Bitcoin calculations: ~10^28

Bitcoin = atomic scale in calculations. WTF.

Let's rephrase that:

If every human on Earth (8 billion) made 1 BILLION attempts per second... It would still take 315 MILLION YEARS to achieve what Bitcoin has done in 16 years. Let that sink in…

Why is no one talking about it?

Because it happened slowly, over 16 years, with millions of machines. But collectively, humanity has just crossed a threshold of computing power that was theoretical 20 years ago.

Proof of work works. Really. (It's kind of my driving force on Nostr.)

Cryptoskeptics say, "Bitcoin mining wastes energy for nothing."

But that "nothing" has literally just created the greatest demonstration of computational power in history.

It's not waste. It's proof.

Now, the real subject of Vitalik's thread: This power is so enormous that it is beginning to challenge our assumptions about what is "impossible" in cryptography.

If we can do 2^96 in 16 years... what will happen in another 16 years?

Cryptography is based on a gamble: "Some calculations take too long to perform, even with all the computers in the world."

Bitcoin just said, "Hold my beer, here's 2^96." Cryptographers look at this and think, "Okay, we need more margin."

Vitalik and other experts suggest: let's move from 96 bits to 128 bits of security. Why? Because 128 bits = 4 BILLION TIMES more calculations than 96 bits. That's not 30% more. It's FOUR BILLION TIMES more. That's exponential power.

Bitcoin has just proven that:

➥ Proof of work is the most powerful security system ever created.

➥ Humanity can achieve "impossible" things when it works together.

➥ But this power forces us to rethink what is "secure."

Is. Is. Is Vitalik slowly becoming a bitcoin maxi?

Nothing straightens the back after 10 hours of vibe coding like heavy back squats 🦾

Get it from backmarket.com this way at least you dont give genocidaires more money.

It took me about 12 hours of vibe coding on Windsurf to convert a ready design to production ready. Has tons of animations and complicated Pinterest like layouts. 98% pixel perferct built on Next JS and connected to Sanity CMS.

My predecessor at this firm, developed the same design on WordPress, took him 6 months, and still looks like Chinese knock off of the intended design.

I know I am good, but talk about incompetence.

Love this!

Its actually draws a powerful yet simple rule that one should strive for.

I really wanna go back to Linux at this point. Lost my way with OSX after years of exclusive Linux use.

Been thinking for a while how I can push fiat to the periphery of my financial life. Its probably a hard & long road, but I guess the best time to start is today!

I am a UI/UX designer with front end experience. I define myself as a designer who codes.

I am open (nay excited!) to offer my experience for #bitcoin.

Providing a portfolio would probably doxx me, but I am open to working on a small-scope partial project as a trial for free. A price I am willing to pay for anonymity.

That said you probably know many of the apps I've worked on, especially if you live Europe, the Middle East or North Africa.

If you have a project that needs an awesome designer, let's talk! If you don't, a boost would be highly appreciated.
