My wife watches people “go live” on TikTok. These people entertain and people send them gifts which have dollar-denominated values. It’s shitty for the creator bc TikTok takes 40% of profits. If people could stream sats or zap creators directly, it would change everything. I personally think the going live is stupid and mostly people digitally panhandling, but they might as well get paid in the hardest money on earth.

Idk where you’re from but I disagree. There was little sovereignty before bitcoin and remote work. Everything was KYC’d, permissioned, and restricted.
because an individual needs a tribe, that is in our DNA. Can’t fight the evolution.
If bitcoin is going to be used by more than a small niche of people, both will happen. Not only that but some really shitty centralized entities will use it also, nothing we can do about it except not participate.
