Accurate
The sentiment is correct though. Crashes are such a tail event that worrying about whether your seat number survives is pointless. If crash, then dead is the likeliest outcome for something catastrophic, because it's usually a) all survived or b) all dead. Some survivors is even rarer than the event of a crash in itself.
In other words, what Lopp has pointed out is essentially pointless.
