1. Augment yourself to get to the same or higher level of intelligence just to survive.
2. Remain you, without augmentation, knowing that you’ll likely become endangered and ultimately extinct.
What do you do?

I'm personally looking forward to the moment 1 is really available. But the world's elites will never allow the common rabble to do such thing.
Replace "AI" with "bitcoin" or "nostr", and the answer is obvious.
If by number 1, you mean gaining more technical skills, then I pass. I’ve already done enough math/science classes to last a lifetime. If general AI has surpassed skill level of individuals with terminal degrees, just give everyone universal basic income at this point.
But I’m always open to becoming a wiser and more kind human being.
In both cases I die within the next 40 years or so, so it really doesn't matter.
2. But ultimately we find out that AI is limited and can't compete with free thinkers.
