What client? Images on nostr posts are just URLs to images... you can put multiple links to multiple images onto a single post.
It depends on the client you are using.
Try another client, I haven’t been explaining recently but coracle was good, damus, probably amethyst.
On amethyst for android tape the icon circled. Your gallery should open. Select the image you want to use. When you come back to nostr tap the add to message purple prompt.
Repeat.
I haven't found a way to select multiple images buy that might be my phones permissions.
