I don’t think many ppl new to #nostr truly understand the real-time feed… 🤔 I didn’t fully understand the difference between us and X until nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s explained it to me a few days ago… it makes ppl uncomfortable to see things, not see things, see the same ppl posting, not understanding why they aren’t automatically being shown things they should like, etc, etc…. Note: delays and algos are preferred and it’s going to be a big education play to overcome that… #workishard

I really like the real time feed! You have to put in a bit more work and I don’t mind missing some stuff - life doesn’t have to be a game of catching up with latest developments.
I like it. Doesn’t overwhelm my brain and foster addictive behavior. Nice to just check in every now and then see if anything worth knowing is going on
Totally. It's wild to think gen z might not have experience with apps and platforms etc that don't have built in algos and force-fed content.
Nostr has aleays felt like a simultaneous throw back AND futuristic.
💯 It’s much more like real life. You miss some things, you’re there for others. If it’s truly important enough and you didn’t catch it firsthand, then you find out from other people about it. It’s a more natural flow of social activity and conversation.
Fuck algos and fuck twitter.
People like being force fed dopamine hits, asking them to be their own algorithm sounds like hell if you’re an NPC but heaven if you’re a freedom lover
I’m also so glad the Twitter “influencers” have left Nostr. It’s hard without the algos pumping. Here it’s real. You have to put in the work to build community
The algos trick people into not building an actual social network by introducing a fake curated one. However, the fake one is usually still so addictive that people will stick with it.
I have not posted almost anything in twitter during 2 years there, and only follow >40 people. As the algo's are there, I did not have a need to actually follow anyone but maybe few key users whose content I want to keep up with all the time. Result: I haven't got an own feed but only a algo built cage. And low propability to any actual social interaction.
- Still calling it twitter as I did not update the app. The blue bird feels more familiar.
