New adherents to #Carnivore should sip hot lemon water with minerals, salt, and extra magnesium for the first year of their journey.

Why?

Because oxalates (small plant crystalline) from tea, chocolate, green leafs, soy, wheat, nuts, and seed consumption results in a large store of oxalates in the body that get dumped into the bloodstream when the intake of these plant foods stop.

Oxalate dumping can cause burning rash, kidney stones, burning dry eyes, and even gout. It's the crystals flooding your system.

The lemon water contains citrate together with the added minerals, especially magnesium, dissolve the oxalate crystals (preventing gout + stones) and restore the minerals being used in greater demand during the transition.

For those who *came* to #Carnivore because they developed an #oxalate intolerance, this can be kind of maddening since they will continue to experience autoimmune symptoms like rash until the oxalates have been fully extricated. Oxalates in, oxalates out.

Zapped, thanks for all the good content 🫡

Loved this content 🤙🏻⚡️zapped!

Was eating high oxalates on Paleo for a long time which exacerbated the Autoimmune for sure. Started carnivore & had symptom relief in some areas & but definite oxalate dumping. Read Sally Norton’s book “Toxic Superfoods” recently & your post nicely summarized her work. It’ll probably be a long journey to get back to feeling good again.

Thx for the good content. ⚡️

Interesting, any reads/videos to suggest to deep dive on the benefit of carnivore diet ?

I recommend Dr. Shawn Baker's book as an intro. It's a quick read. His logic and viewpoint is compelling.

Once you cover that I'd say check out Dr. Paul Saladino and Judy Cho (NTP)'s books.

All three have YouTube channels.

Here's a great testimonial.

Thanks 🤙

Also you do not need to go full on carnivore to start getting benefit.

Cutting down on grain, sugar, especially refined one and avoiding seed oils does a lot already.

Eg: You could do pasta with tomato sauce but you only do like 25 or 50g of pasta and 200g of grass feed ground beef for the tomato sauce.

This can also help if you have a partner that does not want to follow strictly carnivore diet.

I came from a water fasting, Mediterranean keto, seed oil disrespect background.

The only reason I've gone to full #Carnivore is a severe autoimmune reaction that I'm determined to get under control.

Great info, thank you!

I’m well beyond my first year anyway, but citrus stuff tends to screw with me in weird ways. Skin & tonsils have been troublesome any time I have tried. So that approach might not be for everybody.
