Reminds me of the chastity movement we had in high school, where we were told men wanted to marry virgins, and then we quickly found out that it's nearly impossible to get married without "putting out".
Freedom oriented folks banging on about how other people should lead their lives is bollox imo.

Freedom is about being able to do what you ought, not about doing whatever you want. We have an obligation to first follow that ourselves, then help guide those we’re responsible for to do the same, and then be a witness for those around us.
I often witness people around me. I’m not sure if I like it to be honest.
Ultimately, freedom is a harmony of reason and desire. While through reason you may know something is right, it can take time for your desire to be reordered towards the good so that you not only know the good but also have a willful disposition towards it.
Plus telling people “live and let live” is telling people how to live anyway 😉

And if my post came out as a word salad it’s simply that virtue is a habit we form. “Doing the right thing” will never “be easy” all the time but it gets easier and is even what you desire (which brings happiness) as you build that habit.

They're trying to create products the buyers aren't interested in purchasing. This is not gonna work, except in some niche subcultures, where the men have religious or political motivations to want modest, chaste, fertile homemakers.

There is a world of difference between an obedient wife and a pushover, just like there is a world of difference between a husband who leads and a bully. No one serious wants a pushover or a bully. The result is a lot more cooperation and self-sacrifice than the 1950s would have believe.
