In two generations they can interpret the Constitution however they want.

I wonder if they do that already. They did in new Zealand 😩 We need to stand in our own sovereignty, we are already free. We don't need to be granted it.

It's a psy-op on a 100+ year time scale

why curriculum?

cant you learn on your own!?

I have heard this argument but I have never needed to read cursive to read the constitution or declaration, etc. See for a very long time we have had tools that can make text and lots of copies of things. Sometime ago we even developed the skills of Control C and Control V and right click save as. I don't think this is a good argument for an outdated mode of communications.

Being graded for hand writing in Catholic School as a kid also never felt fair to me. I am not an artist, I will never be one. My hand writing sucks and if I spend years working out it, nothing would change.

Shit changes, MOVE ON. How many on this kick can tack up a team of horses and run a team with a buggy? How many of them shoe a horse? Etc. How many can do blacksmith work? Maintain and effectively use a flint lock rifle?

I can do all those things but I chose to learn. Hell some saying this about cursive I bet can't even drive a stick shift.

If you want your kids to be able to read cursive just teach them yourself. Don't wait for school to teach your kids anything that's important and vital life skills. The whole point is to have them be able to follow orders, be a good employee, do as their told, don't question.

It's an interesting point you raise nevertheless about not losing knowledge and skills. I just raised it in my family and my teen immediately looked up the US Declaration of Independence and started reading it (he's not American though 😄). I've never "taught" him cursive tbf as he's unschooled and and he's in charge of his own learning. He's never been to school and has an insatiable desire for learning, as he's never had the curiosity, thirst for knowledge and love of learning knocked out of him.
