It feels like you and I have been in this situation before! Things not working for iOS as they should (cough) cashu.me NWC to Damus IIRC.
I find it interesting at how sporadic the functionality on Nostr is. I know it's all "best effort" development and I greatly appreciate it, but things that were working seem to stop and start.
I'd LOVE to get cashu wallet NWC working with Damus, but lately Damus on iOS is a massive battery drain, easily 1% a minute.

I'm doing well. Thanks for asking. I've decided that Cashu Wallet in its current state isn't practical as a full-service Nostr wallet. Receiving is fine, but sending via NWC requires that you open the wallet before zapping. Which defeats the purpose of NWC. It's not convenient to load Cashu everytime you want to zap. Because when you do zap, there's an approval you have to do in the wallet before it will send. I think calle is working on it, but there's no expected time frame that it will be resolved.
I've opened my own Lightning node with nostr:nprofile1qqsf07zg4hxyccnkdp07fppxmetpfzru3fg6mgzx3nk8r7af8qnjjygpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3qamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wd3skueqpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejsxj0y5x, and it's been a great experience so far. I control my own channels and liquidity, and they provide a Lightning address for receiving zaps, and they fully support NWC so it facilitates sending zaps. And it all works. I'm even able to use NWC to connect it to the Alby Go wallet, so I can use that as a front-end for the node. It's also web-based so it's fully compatible with all platforms. It may be a good solution for you, as well, so check it out when you have time. rizful.com
