I'm a bit of a novice here...am I beyond pulling this off or is there maybe a solid tutorial I could follow on YouTube or elsewhere? I'm interested just not sure how to move forward.
I’m now officially a “Node Runner”!
By running my own node, I help make the game:
More decentralized.
More secure.
More private (self-sufficient).
More efficient.
I don’t trust, I verify, hence more integrity.
More of the people, by the people.
Thx to everyone who helped me level up, including our conversation - nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe 🙏🏻 very grateful!

I guess that's a good starting point from nostr:npub1rxysxnjkhrmqd3ey73dp9n5y5yvyzcs64acc9g0k2epcpwwyya4spvhnp8

and this (more high level about bitcoin) https://youtu.be/vc_7I6Fnqkk?si=b6sjueC9WMfn-rag
Thanks so much! I'm a huge fan of Jeff's work as well so I'll start studying up.
Appreciate your guidance here.
If you just want a Bitcoin Node, it's really easy, just don't put any BTC on it (Bitcoin core has a built-in wallet) and you've got nothing to lose.
Hardest part was deciding what hardware to run it on (raspberry pi or a laptop/pc/cloud) and if I should use a service like Umbrel or build it from sourcecode myself (I chose the last one since it's just 3 lines of commands, but you have to configure tor as well, which was fine but only do that if you're not scared of command prompt 🙂)
conclusion: everyone can do it, let me know if you need help!
Appreciate that!
nostr:npub1rxysxnjkhrmqd3ey73dp9n5y5yvyzcs64acc9g0k2epcpwwyya4spvhnp8 made a solid video using nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll to run bitcoin core and other services. But yea, you can also just purchase a 1TB or 2TB SSD hard drive from best buy and download bitcoin core directly!
