Imagine having a part of your body that is, rather than being open medical knowledge like every other part, the proprietary technical property of a corporation. If something goes wrong you have to go through Corp to troubleshoot.

I’m not against implantable brain-computer interfaces but they have to be open source to go in my body.

For anyone who may think this is only for a type of "implantable hardware wallet", know that it's for class 3 medical devices.. These are for devices that can cause serious harm.

"Class III medical devices are the highest-risk category of medical devices in the UK and are subject to the most rigorous regulatory controls. These devices include implantable cardiac devices and prosthetic heart valves, among others, and must undergo strict clinical evidence evaluation to support their approval."

We haven’t figured out how to secure our laptops and phones and we’re still trying to put chips in brains.

I love the idea in the abstract but we’re not ready for this to be reality.
