my point of view as MOTHER.

if we as parents regulate time for KIDS, NO social media affects their mental health.

QUALITY, educate them to be selective on what they watch and consume, like you kids control the algorithm.
that's my point of view.

responsibility is US as PARENTS. PERIOD.
NOT big tech social media corps.

are you a MATURE INTEL CONSCIOUS PARENT or NOT?
that's the KEY QUESTION to ask.

it's NOT to blame social media corps or BIG TECH.
it's THE people.
what kind of parent are you?
and how you educate GUIDE your kids?

PERIOD.

the same of leaves your kids in school and just trust the school education.

how are you educating them at home?

really weird but I have parents from different heritages. when living in Japan my mother furiously taught me maths and homework from the second I got home till dinner time, every day for years straight.

we moved to australia, and her interest in helping me died quick. dad's knowledge and help though came in at that point while living in a western country. I was brought up on Monty Python and British Comedy and an entire library where I could read what I wanted.

I don't have kids... and I turned out well, pretty bad. But I can't think of anything more fruitful to a life than to love learning. Not one topic, but all. I think when you place the phone or ipad in the hands of someone under the age of 5 and give them unfettered access to all socials? You fucked up.

i’m talking about another kind of education:

principles / values

family first

Respect for the high agency

thank you

show respect paying

if you don’t have money, pay with your work.

on top of bitcoin. proof of work

i’ve been adding value here — free — for over a decade.

that’s how you show respect

contributing to your beautiful community

and that's caring

AGE‑BASED GUIDELINES (AAP / CDC)

under 18 months: none, except video calls.

2-5 years: ≤1 hour/day high-quality, with you.

6-12 years: ≤1.5-2 hours/day total screens (non-school).

teens: NO fixed limit, just protect sleep, exercise, and focus.

adults: treat it like work. 9 to 5, then unplug.

REAL TALK:

build a family media plan

NO phones at meals

tech‑free zones

You know that kid's shit is just an excuse to id everyone online right?
