we need this concept

there is ‘forbearance’ of course—which implies one doesn’t reply in the end, but something both timeless and philosophically or humorously specific to the internet might be better—and let’s face it, sometimes yer gonna reply (e.g. xkcd’s Duty Calls) nostr:note1a0n2d7fx77spty5qrvttsnjl7r4ty5qyhdgzmwljecy6ukm45ajqn7pgu6

With mindfulness becoming trendy, replylessness sounds like a thing that might actually resonate. 😅

I feel that one too

Self control

Mindfulness

Prudence

Grace

I've struggled with this a lot when I decide to waste time on bluesky. It takes a lot of self control to stop and think about whether replying will really convince anyone or just deepen the divide. In most cases, it will do the latter, so the prudent thing to do is just abstain with grace.

Changes happens at the boundary, and it happens gradually. But social media pits the people with the most different views against each other, ensuring no change actually takes place.
