I think we should implement something like TrustNet because it is entirely decentralized so user ranking is subjective instead of universal.

We could also feed in content reports and only use the ones from users that have a high trustnet score for you.

BTW… Having read a bit of the TrustNet docs… NIP-68 & 69 mirror it in many ways - only you can’t give a trust weight to the other person/account. That was somewhat intentional because it adds a layer of complexity which has limited value in an environment like Nostr. And TrustNet seems to focus more on P2P where there’s a limited (rather than enormous) number of people who could be trusted. When you have a huge number of people who you can trust I don’t see the value in partial trusts. Just pick the ones you _really_ trust.

One area where I’m thinking we could mirror TrustNet more is the Trust Area idea. So you only trust someone’s content moderation labels in a particular area of moderation. I think that’s too complex for end users but could be implemented by folks like relays who have their own formulas.
