CLIENTS CAN MITIGATE MOST NOSTR PRIVACY CONCERNS AT THE COST OF CENSORSHIP RESISTANCE.
SOME WILL COMPLAIN IT IS NOT A WORTHY TRADEOFF.
AT THE END OF THE DAY MORE OPTIONS FOR USERS IS BETTER.

I agree. Only the user can determine the appropriate tradeoffs for their situation. An ordinary pleb talking about farm life benefits more from privacy enhancement than censorship resistance. For now at least lol
Users can obtain pretty decent privacy for a public network. Amethyst has tor/orbot support and can be run on a degoogled phone with no sim & in airplane mode. Account creation requires no personal identifying information. Keys can be kept secure in Amber for signing. Running a local relay like Citrine on phone, Statrt9 nostr relay on your own server and send notes to a select group of relays you feel have some integrity. I don't think I trade off censorship resistance for any of that.
What major tradeoff between privacy and censorship resistance is there?
More options for users STOPS being better when those option normalize undermining bitcoins fundamental value proposition(s).
Sound bites are nice and all. But they are not critical thinking.
Yet coming up with more options is inevitable
So if you care of about private, censorship-resistant options you say
"those options are bullshit"
not
"more options are good"
I said neither, only that there will be options coming up, whether we like it or not.
What is good or not will be shown by time, and the community will decide for better or for worse.
Why does increased privacy mean decreased censorship resistance?
BECAUSE IT FUNDAMENTALLY MEANS PUTTING HOPS BETWEEN USERS AND RELAYS/MEDIA SERVERS.
i've been arguing for a broadcast vs narrowcast distinction in kinds for a while now... this would enable HD keychains instead of fixed npubs being also the nsec signers
some things need to be broadcast, some need to be sent to your outboxes, others need to be sent to your counterparty's common in/outbox, or ideally, to their personal relay

Having more options is always better, the world doesn’t revolve around us. Precisely the freedom to be able to choose is already worth it. Each person has different interests.
I always come back and use the client that fits into my routine.

Those who complain are a dime a dozen, bobble headed, bad parts of history repeaters.

This compromise doesn't have to be made, P2P networks figured out much of this a decade ago. Look at #I2P, #Freenet #Hyphanet. I wish nostr would integrate some w these platforms, especially for media storage. They are more decentralized and more censorship resistant.
be the change you wish to see in the world
is this foreshadowing?
