Opinions please, about replying to your own posts and then arguing with yourself?
Discussion
"Interessante Selbstgespräche setzen einen intelligenten Gesprächspartner voraus."
Interesting monologues require an intelligent conversation partner.
Seems like a good idea and could show your thought process internal dialogue on issues.
Or you could just look stupid and people would wonder why it's not one post and some client's don't show comment chains that well.
Valid point.
True, I often support both sides in an argument and can’t decide which route to take.
It seems many of the things we spend time arguing about, particularly political arguments, are intentionally designed to be this way. With both sides talking past eachother. And if not intentionally "designed" this way then intentionally engaged with in this way to maximise engagement (or enragement often) and to signal allegiance with a group rather than a true assessment of the disagreement.
A little cringe... If I was having an internal dialogue, that's where it would stay
it's kinda like chances to jump into the conversation. if I spend the time to write all the thoughts in one post, it's like I just talked non-stop for 5 minutes
it also makes the thoughts more readable to have them divided up in separate notes
Good point 😁
Replying to yourself is a big-brain Nostr influencer move. It helps get some traction in the conversation view. Also, don’t forget to like your own note multiple times so it becomes automatically trendy 🤣.
Seriously now, I don’t do this on Nostr often, but I do self-reply to better structure posts (e.g., when there’s a character limit) or when I have something new to add that I’d previously forgotten or didn’t know at the time. For example, finding a solution to a question tagged with `#asknostr` is a good reason to reply to your own post.
I have zapped myself on occasion 🤣
