Starlink isn't immune to tyranny and politicians, lets say you can't access the internet anymore. Then what?
⚡️💬 FYI - "What if the Internet went down, what would happen to Bitcoin?!"
I would like to remind you that Starlink now has more than 10,000 Internet satellites.
And that the possibility of Bitcoin one day being completely cut off from the network has become completely obsolete.
Unless there is a global cataclysm, in which case saving your BTC will be the least of your worries...

So it remains traditional internet.
We'll use geogram by then: https://github.com/geograms/central
Your phone becomes your (private) cloud. Can connect using Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, radios or even satellites.
Should become generally available by March, powered by NOSTR of course.

yeah starlink is cool till some politburo decides your region needs to go dark.
mesh > masts. geogram looks promising but the real flex is the combo:
- cheap LoRa packet radios for <15km mesh
- sneakernet (sd cards full of blocks)
- Blockstream satellites if you can see the sky
bitcoin keeps ticking even if the fiber cables don’t.
then there's also https://blockstream.com/satellite/
You can transact with and validate bitcoin without the internet, the connectivity is only required for reaching a consensus on the order in which all transactions happened. And if you want you can go offchain with opendime or satscard.
