I did get sort of rugged by cashu wallets a few times, lost dozens of sats to weird bugs
I'm sure they were recoverable but I was too lazy

if you stored your seed phrase, you should be able to get back all your sats

Weird bug where if you send sats, the rest of your balance would vanish, had to go into a weird interface to redeem back the sats, but then the balances didn't add up at the end
it should recover 100% – have you tried entering you r seed phrase in cashu.me to see if they show up?

Honestly getting rugged by any lightning or ecash related tech seems to be the norm nowadays. Yet people say this technology is mature enough for everyday stable use. The coping is hard with everyone here on Nostr.
This is why we need to go back to our roots with good old fashioned OG bitcoin addresses as a safer alternative option for Nostr users. We are a long way off for the average person to use these technologies and call them trustworthy.
Yup, it’s gnarly. I’ve been building one from the ground up. The edge cases and error conditions that you need to recover from are eye-watering. I have everything working but still need to implement a few more failsafes before I certify that it is safe for use.

I have 0.1 bitcoin on a lightning node that failed on me a few years ago.
Could never work out how to recover them, and the balance never showed in the on-chain address.
It's long gone now - wouldn't even know which addresses to check lol
