Were you using a free account? I know it shouldn't matter but I don't have any other great options rn
nostr:npub1mea2vwcu06qf7e4x00wd902vj54qnn2jacq76ldntrgfhtvhlpqqrvqane just locked me out of my account with zero access and said they detected fraud. Took my money and just locked me out with a one liner email.
You can't trust anyone. I know this. That's why I thought proton was a good option. I guess not.

No I paid with Bitcoin and they locked me out a few hours later.
Interesting, would you be willing to disclose where that bitcoin came from? I washed mine through wasabi with the privacy set to 50x.
If we need to wash our Bitcoin before we use it because someone will reject it, then Bitcoin is not fungible.
That's a big problem.
I'm not arguing a moral case about free trade, nor a technical analysis of privacy on bitcoin, I spent a lot on that wasabi transaction and for a years proton sub, I'm asking for practical reasons. That's the VPN that runs on my families phones, my home, that's the email I use for privacy, that's the cloud storage I use for moving sensitive data between devices. I am just trying to figure out if I need to cut the cord and explore other options, or whether I'm under the radar.
I exchanged the Bitcoin on changeNOW I think. I did not wash it or anything else.
OK, thanks for the information. It certainly motivates me to get back to work on cleaning up some of my home networking and NAS so that I can have a secure fallback if I lose access. I need to get back in gear with a self hosted password manager, FTP etc.
