I don't remember where I first read about it when I was growing up, but yes, I have heard about it. It is an intriguing linguistic and cultural phenomenon to say the least.

I've heard of it. I've never heard it. It was a neat idea, but it hasn't taken off. Although I did hear that William Shatner performed in Esperanto once upon a time.

As a child 50 years ago, I've found a dictionary "german-esperanto" in the trash bin. That's when I heard about it first time. I kept it for decades until it disappeared anyhow.
