Sometimes I get so caught up in what I’m trying to build that I forget what I already have.

Right now I’m grateful for my kids and my wife, a warm comfortable house, and food enough for all of us to eat.

No good week of sales or new customer comes close to the value of what I already have.

Thanks for the reminder TallBrian. Important to balance gratitude for what we have with the desire to grow and evolve. The middle way.

You are winning. Happy for you!

That’s what’s up. Thank you for the reminder!

Website looks good too. How long have you been running that business?

Thanks! Been running Vagabond Paint for about 2 years. The retail side of our business is about 10% of revenue. We’ve been running the wholesale side of the business for 4 years. Still feels like a startup though. Takes time!

Nice, love it! Why’d you start the retail side? Felt you maxxed out of the wholesale opportunities?

Mostly because I’m a glutton for punishment. Turns out retail customers are more demanding than wholesale and there are a LOT more of them.

On the wholesale side we sell truckload volumes of chemicals to manufacturers like Sherwin Williams and EcoLab. I’ve always wanted my own brand that could focus on more natural alternatives. The retail business was to scratch that itch.

Nothing quite matches the feeling of a new challenge 😅 where do the retail customers come from? What are your marketing channels?

Right now mostly Shopify and Amazon. A little bit from Etsy, eBay and Walmart too.

Nicely diversified. How do you get traffic to the site?
