I’m not necessarily against images being on the blockchain, just not at the expense of basic peer to peer trades.. The fees are stupid..

“$1.5 million of BTC was just moved for $3.40” was an excellent value prop. Same for fees for transfers to other countries v. Western Union… Those are gone now..

I get it, we are trading the value for images now on the blockchain for the cost of BTC transfers, let the free market win, but ideally there is a better way to do it without destroying our blocks/ memoool..

It sucks yes.

So Wait it out or fight back lol

We have to aggressively fight back. A lot of damage has already been done. The Virtuous full nodes can't keep this up. Won't keep this up.

The virtuous nodes are your security. They are #Bitcoin. No virtuous full #nodes, no Bitcoin. That's the dirty little secret they fail to mention lol.

They're trying to destroy Bitcoin for a quick buck. Suck it dry. Then kick the husk into the gutter. Typical Wall Street maneuver..💀🧡😊🦍

💪🏾

Maybe I’ll be proven wrong, but my guess is like NFTs broadly if you let it play out long enough they gradually collapse on their own. Maybe not completely disappear, but this incredibly expensive level of irrationality cannot go on forever.

If you suspend transaction #fees, or drop a randomX bomb on them. They will definitely collapse lol..👹💣🗡️💀😂😭🧡😊🦍

There are better ways (like lightning) but there are really really good reasons why the network has to function the way it does today.

Couldn’t there be a layer 2 focused on ordinals/inscriptions leaving the blockchain in peace?

Sure, but people can still freely transact on L1 and seem to value doing so

There are many other things that can be done. But this is an attack on #Bitcoin. Their intent is to damage and destroy Bitcoin.

There have been many others. This attack must be destroyed too. Like I said. I would cut off their nuts off..💀

Think whatever you want, but I’m not running different code. Valid, fee paying transactions are valid, fee paying transactions.

I’m no fan of ordinals or their use case but I’ve heard zero reasonable ways to mitigate their use and I am very uninterested in “high fees are bad so let’s limit transaction flexibility.”

You won't need to run different code. At least at first. I'll do it for you. Like I have for the past 15 years.

I'm thinking no transaction #fees or a randomX bomb would get this party started..👹💣🗡️💀🧡😊🦍

I’d love to hear your no transaction fees solution.

🤙🏾

all we can do is mine em out, imo.

There's a better way to do it without #fucking the virtuous full nodes up the #ass.

The nodes secure the whole network. Including mining. The virtues full nodes are #Bitcoin. You keep #fucking them and they will #fuck your world up..💀🧡😊🦍

I am. Bitcoin is an "electronic cash system" and not a digital photo album. "Currency" is the only "utility" Bitcoin needs.

Exactly, everything else is just an unjustified expense on #nodes, #users and #hodlers. Why would any goofballs think we would all put up with that lol..🧡😊🦍

If people can find creative, new ways for Bitcoin to provide value, great, but like you said, not when adding an unjustified expense… especially when degrading the performance of Bitcoin’s core purpose..

Right. Imo Bitcoin is providing it's value as currency. It doesn't have to provide anything else other than being a tamperproof monetary system with a never changing monetary policy. confirming transactions 24/7, 7 days a week with 0 accounting errors.

Yes. It must be a currency first, 100%.

We should be improving its transfer speeds and costs, not degrading them.. I trust the market to find value as it sees fit, maybe the jpgs evolve to house titles, maybe people decide to (seriously) us blocks as a time system, maybe the blockchain can be the foundational structure to a global marketplace.. All creative and potential Bitcoin uses, BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE Of ITS CORE PURPOSE! (Just read Odell’s note)

We've had markets, two-way escrow and other bartering on the BTC chain for a long time. It just never caught on and then was forgotten about when ETH took smart contracts to the next level.

Remember Bithalo?

https://bithalo.org/

Exactly, #Satoshi told everyone exactly what #Bitcoin is, and he also wrote the code. All we have to do is not #fuck it up..🧡😊🦍

Kids with more money than they'd know what to do with. 🤣

I think ordinals will turn into a faint memory just like coloured coins did.

I hope so..😠

There should be an added cost for non transactions on the blockchain. It should be actively discouraged

Non BTC monetary transaction
