I derped but I see what you mean now. Signal good for secure text off NOSTR. Telegram for wider adoption perhaps, fairly secure. On NOSTR, how about OxChat? I'm impressed w/ it and it has encrypted private text chat like Signal, and also NOSTR DM's built in. nostr:npub1nl8r463jkdtr0qu0k3dht03jt9t59cttk0j8gtxg9wea2russlnq2zf9d0 wdy think?
I'm one of those lucky few for whom 0xChat never worked... Signal and Telegram are good for community building until something better comes along...
There is also Chorus, which is a nice (and newer) Nostr app: https://chorus.community/
