If it's unbiased, it's not gross. It's the same as corporatism vs capitalism. A clean unbiased algo can be really beneficial for discovery and content selection, but keeping it clean is impossible if there's money to be made/influence be had.
Hope we can get them algos here as well, and by the nature of nostr any algo can be opted out, so the incentives are way better aligned here.

Can't deny that. At a certain point I was living off of the suggestions from YouTube algos on the home page over my own subscriptions page.
That kinda' changed after switching to freetubeapp.io though. You gotta back up your subs list from Google to use it and that's when you realize the subs list is important again.
I like Lex. I watch him much more when he was docused on machine learning and AI, nowadays, not so much. But he has a strange crush for Elon Musk. Like whatever he does is great! :)
Just watch his MIT lecture on some AI or whatever, the shallowness is immense, yet everyone claps while he was dropping terminologies left and right. wow such ML

They can keep their algorithms
Algorithms are awful UX
* ppl's focal interest changes from moment to moment
* literally no one wants to be thinking or worrying about how to appease the algorithm when interacting
Good search beats algorithmic feeds
I see more and more ppl on X using lists & their follows feed
Those ppl are preferring stoneage technology over 48M parameter neural nets
All that work to show me a tweet in another language I can't read. X was terrible before I deleted my account.

People are so used to it now - if it were in my power (or had the know how) I might as well wouldโve given it to them.
