Imo adding too many people into a group to build a product at early stage is not good.
You need to move fast and decisively. There’s no room for trying to seek consensus and hoping to please everyone as a good team player. Naturally that means making some tough decisions on your own.
I truly believe great things are products of individual vision initially, and later supported by great people.

The very foundations of your product. What it is and what it will stand for, where the limits will be set and what values will be reinforced always. Alpha - v3 or so should be all individual or a few people max.
