It’s been 2 days of me flashing and reflashing an SD card to get an Umbrel node running.
I played with most of the variables and still it doesn’t want to work.
Very frustrating. No clear indication of what’s going on, and Umbrel being headless makes it even more difficult.
I’ve been meaning to do this… now I’m scurrred

I tried a start9 for some strange reason, it’s not working.
Maybe it’s my hardware? 
Can I connect to start9 apps through a cloudflare tunnel?
Yes, I created a wrapper for the cloudflared client here: https://github.com/remcoros/cloudflared-startos
Set your cloudflare tunnel api key in the configuration and use the ZeroTrust dashboard of cloudflare to setup the tunnel/public hostname routes.
Just run start9 instead
I tried start9 and it completed the blockchain but there was an error when I try to connect my sparrow wallet to it. Couldn’t solve the problem and switched back to umbrel. Now I run 1.x in my raspberry pi 5 and 0.9 version on another raspberry pi 4. It works fine for me. Not sure what point you stuck but I might be of a help if you give some information about your hardware.
sorry, been there that is frustrating. one thing ive liked about start9 is that it does have a kiosk mode where you can plug in a monitor and interact with the machine.
