Many tech news sites heavily copy content from each other without even very basic verification. We've seen this cycle repeat itself around Android over and over again in the past couple years. If this story had been true, it would apply to laptops and desktops with Wi-Fi too.
These nonsense stories including about fake vulnerabilities, etc. are spread multiple times a month and we have to spend significant time answering questions from people about it. Most are based on press releases from companies unlike this case originating from AI hallucinations.
