In my previous life I sold an info product aimed at helping startups grow through better design. It was a database of strategies based on behavioral psychology and a broader study of design and consumer behavior. Categories included onboarding, landing pages, lead harvesting, product design, positioning and copywriting.

I never talk about it but this is what I did professionally to pay the bills. Design was more of a hobby all along, and a tool to express ideas. Eventually I did end up doing a lot of design work, but it was always anchored in my background of studying human behavior and how people think.

What have you learned from observing the masses o wise one?☝🏻

That we are very irrational and easy to manipulate. Scarily so.

I must admit it’s pretty convenient I don’t want for anything really.

It is this irrationality and manipulation which gives us bitcoiners a purpose, a base to improve upon.

I am a Massage Therapist, if people would stop abusing their body, I'd have nothing to treat other then traumas or birth defects

-doesn't sound that bad the more I think about ist 🤔

Why did you stop doing this?

I got drawn to doing actual design work more. It was more fun and mentally rewarding. At the same time I got tired of sales and hustle. Besides the product sales I also did consulting and would have multiple calls per day. It just became not interesting and I was no longer interested in talking to people. Instead, async (no calls, ever) became my preferred method of communication and has been since then. I basically went the totally opposite direction. For the product sales it was a one time sale so there's a lot of hustle involved not for a lot of reward overall. It was just the wrong format and I did not wish to provide the actual services of executing those strategies (which is what people really wanted). Nobody wanted to read stuff, they just wanted someone to come in and fix it. I did provide this service for a while but didn't see it benefiting much. Besides making a living, I was helping startups disproportionately to the value they provided back. For example, I could position their product via price anchoring and get them 30% more revenue over night without lifting a finger, while I would see nowhere near significant value returned back to me. Besides, I was becoming more passionate about bitcoin and saw that as a more rewarding path, mentally speaking.

Sounds like great experience for what you do now 💯🙌🏼

Yeah I’m fortunate that everything I’ve done in life has been beneficial for the next step and the next and the next - and now I’m here 😆

Funny how things work out! A good sign for sure.😊

Yep. If you asked the younger me what I thought of my cumulative experience I’d say it’s total chaos and won’t amount to anything

😅😅 I used to design buildings, now I write code. I was surprised how many skills transfer!

Oh interesting! Architect?

Structural engineer! I guess all design processes are the similar at the lowest level..

Reminds me of Celia Hodent for video games.

What is your opinion of such practices now?

It’s inevitable. Can be used for good or for bad.
