It's a basic hardware signer, so there's not much flexibility in how you use it. I use Nunchuk Wallet, which has native Tapsigner support, so I create a new key and assign the Tapsigner to it. Then, when sending a transaction, I tap the Tapsigner when it's time to sign the transaction. Basically, it puts the key on the card as opposed to the key being software that lives on the device.
