A) my scan fails because my camera is dirty from being in the woods taking pictures all day, so I'm presented the option to create a note of some kind that gets sent to mycologists willing to receive them, who can then ask for more or better pictures, spore prints, etc.

B) I found an edible mushroom! I'm presented with notes from other people who also found that species and maybe a recipe or a seller's npub/shop. There's also a link to knowledge bases about it and an option to add my scan with any pertinent information to the cluster.

C.) I found a poisonous mushroom! Relevant advisories display first above all the other stuff with a big button to directly contact health professionals.

There's also some relay that collects my mushroom notes so I can browse, read, and chat about my findings with ease when I'm back home. I see the mycologist answered my question so i zap. It also shows me other people's findings, based on whatever criteria, in my social feed. And I possibly go mushroom hunting with a new friend the next weekend.

Interesting. Who’s the designated nostr mycologist? How do I verify? 😄

There's at least 1 trained mycologist who uses nostr occasionally... whether he would be interested in participating isn't something I could answer. But I'm just envisioning possibilities... in my mind it seems both ecosystems could benefit from eachother.
