I have exit options in place and I will be spending most of my time out of the UK from next year.

But I intend to keep a home here and will be back for as much time as is allowed (mainly in the summer). The UK is still one of the most beautiful and temperate climates on the planet and I still feel at home and comfortable here.

You missed my sarcasm, but I'm with you. All we can do is control ourselves and our immediate context and build good shit. My firm is an exemplar of this. We're hedge for down times and up times and are spending shitloads of money on culture building consultants and what not so that we can grow the firm and maintain its cultural identity which from our perspective is our competitive moat.
