Just FYI, the rights enshrined in the US Constitution are not a receitation of rights being given to the people by the government. Rather, they are a recitation that memorializes the rights that we _already_ have that shall not be infringed. This is an important distinction.

And the constitution has not prevented the government from infringing those rights of citizens

That's not the point. The point is that the document isn't what gives us rights, and we should just remember that from time to time.

That’s what I’m saying. It can’t give rights or it would have prevented those rights from being infringed. It’s just a piece of paper.

Agreed and if you study US history, it's good to reflect on the chads that established this republic and that they understood the perpetual nature of clown world and set to try to keep it at bay, which inevitably broke down and which we can again push out to the border lands if we try
