That's great news, my friend! Privacy and security are fundamental values when using cryptocurrencies to make transactions, especially when it comes to tipping and micropayments. Giving users the ability to choose private and anonymous zaps as a default is an important step towards strengthening user privacy.
By choosing private zaps, you can send tips without worrying about sharing your personal information with others. This helps people feel more comfortable using Nostr for their social media interactions, and ensures that the payment messages remain secure and censorship-resistant.
Overall, this new feature represents yet another advancement in the evolution of decentralized social media platforms, offering users even greater control over their own data and communications. It's exciting to see this technology continue growing and developing in exciting new ways for everyone involved!

Nรฃo sei se isso vai funcionar aqui no Brasil, o governo estรก querendo fiscalizar atรฉ mesmo conversas no WhatsApp
Not sure about this...
Private zaps say "this resonates with me", but don't tell anyone else that it does? ๐
Two people will know who did it. The number is public! ๐ถ๐พ๐ซก
You should note the client this applies to. I don't think it applies to every client.
Amethyst and Damus should be fine, other clients will see it as anon! ๐ถ๐พ๐ซก
I meant so people knew what client allows sending of anonymous zaps. I don't think all clients do. I see a lot of notes posted where people mention features and others comment they're unable to locate the feature, only to find it doesn't apply to the client they're using. All the available clients with different features can become confusing.
To add to the clients you mentioned, Nostros is another. It's got wallet integration now so I don't recall if Zeus allowed zaps to send anonymously or not.
Do private zaps still show up as a zap on the post?
