I’m not a gamer, I jumped off that train years ago so i don’t completely understand that ecosystem. What would be the advantage to using their own tokens for in game purchases when sats hold real world value? Are these tokens bought with fiat or earned through the game? Or both?

I’m over my head here talking video games. My games revolve more around nerding out with bitcoin, economic theories among other hobbies. I have figured out that ₿ fixes or makes things much better. There has to be more room for Bitcoin adoption in the world of games. I’d say inevitable.

I don’t play games as much as I use to, but it was really impactful to me during formative years of my life

There may not be a huge advantage in that point specifically, even nostr devs are considering using their own token instead of sats within their client (surprisingly)

If I extrapolate out into the future, I don’t like the idea of having to deposit money into my game/app/service to retrieve credits

That just leaves dead money in pockets everywhere

I much prefer the NIP60 approach by nostr:nprofile1qqs04xzt6ldm9qhs0ctw0t58kf4z57umjzmjg6jywu0seadwtqqc75s8fsrrg where you can have a “services wallet” that has an amount accessible immediately upon logging in

Less friction, more flow
