**This is just a friendly reminder that iOS is inferior to the openness and flexibility of Android.**

Agreed. But I much prefer the hardware of the garden walled company. It’s a shame.
Apple hardware is great, but if you want a superior camera you'll need to use a Google Pixel ;) No one can match Google's computational photography. Pixel hardware is great too, though battery life honestly sucks. I am not your average user though. Maybe regular people have better battery life.
I have both and really want to use my pixel as my main phone…. But i just got the Apple Watch ultra and i don’t want to stop using it. 😂
I will respectfully disagree. Perhaps because I’m Canadian and I could easily get a Huawei p30 pro phone. the Huawei was the best damn camera I’ve ever had on a phone. But sold and went for IPhone 12 Pro Max and the camera is so disappointing compared.
Agreed.
Pixel battery life seems much better when you load an alternate OS like Graphene, in my opinion.
Graphene uses a lot less power than the Google OS because it isn’t doing much “background work” like tracking and locating.
This.
You all recommend this graphene thing on pixel? I, super unfamiliar but need a new phone soon. I wfh so honestly would be down to try something totally new ie pixel.
GrapheneOS is what we call a custom ROM. It allows you to de-Google your phone. It's custom firmware for your phone. You need to unlock the bootloader and flash the new firmware. It's not hard to do on a Pixel, especially now a days. It's all point and click. Super easy.
Pixel is the best phone to use with graphene. Mine is a Pixel 4 (not the phone I’m currently using)
I ran GrapheneOS before. It's nice. I used to run custom ROMs for the better part of a decade. I just don't have time for that any longer.
I was an android main my whole lift until I tried this iPhone SE. it’s fine, does 95% of the same things
I've always been Android on the phone. I had a iPad for a while years ago. It was nice for consuming (audio, video, web) but was not good at all for any kind of production. I prefer a laptop with a physical keyboard and use my phone as little as possible when typing is involved.
I've always been pure Android, an Android Maxi. My kids have iPads school issue iPads. I know nothing about them and can't use them at all. When my 11 year old has problems, I ask my 13 year old to come help. I need my Android, dammit! But I agree with laptop. I use laptop/desktop for most things still.
iOS is very simple, which as a dev I understand is great for the avg user. Android has gotten much better in that regard. But iOS is very closed, and I've never liked that. Plus I use Google in my work (email, sheets, docs) so that integration is just more convenient.
Maybe iOS is too simple for me? I can't navigate settings or find where anything is so I give up after a minute. To be fair though, I have probably only 10 minutes of iOS usage, ever. I just do not like Apple and their walled "revolutionary" garden. Now if you need your Android device rooted and ROMed, I'm your man!
The UI is awful. It's not just you. I feel the same way. It is terrible. Especially the calendar dqte selector scroll wheel. 🤮
Apple is garbage but it makes you look fancy.
"Only poor people don't like airpods gneeee"
"Only poor people hate macbooks"
At least if you make video or sound okay, it's not bad but 99% of macbook guys just scroll and send mails
You might be joking, sarcasm hasn't found a way to be displayed via text yet, but these are things actual people say about iOS vs Android when the fact is a brand new iPhone costs as much as a brand new Pixel. You can also get a shitter Android phone for $25. That doesn't mean they are all shit.
Yet Apple has some of the strongest privacy policies and device encryption in the industry. That’s why I still use Apple devices.
I have a Macbook Pro for audio/video production. Nothing comes close to matching Final Cut Pro X for power + ease of use. Adobe products are far too complicated. Mac is also great for graphic design using Affinity Designer and Affinity Pro. For everything else I use Windows.
I have AVLinux on my MacBook Pro. Live audio mixing + recording & animation and video editing
all & easy to use.
Use to use proprietary stuff but found it limiting!
Have you checked out DEX on a new Samsung Tablet? It's a pretty solid replacement for a laptop for work stuff.
100%
But the blue messages 😭
AOSP till I die fools... shout out to all Graphine users
