Facebook is not a fully open platform, but the protocol it is built on, HTTP, is fully decentralized and open and anyone can run an alternative Facebook server on top of it, so I think it is ok to say Facebook is a decentralized social network.
Also once Jack had lunch with Mark Zuckerberg, so it is ok to have Jack's picture on every article about the decentralized social network Facebook.

Honestly, I don't understand why anyone uses Facebook. The only reason I can see is its' popularity in some regions for specific audience age. Elder people seem to be unwilling to change services/platforms (even if more convenient are available) because of habit.
