I was told custodial Lightning is temporary. Now I am told the future of Bitcoin is distributed ecash custodians
That’s because self-custodial Lightning is temporary. The LN has way too many issues, and it’s a waste of time and effort
It was a neat idea, but it’s time to move on. Sunk cost fallacy.

Self-custodial Lightning is temporary because there is not enough space on L1. Even the LN whitepaper says Bitcoin needs 133MB blocks for everyone to make just two channels a year.
I don’t need to try it. I know it will work "now", but it’s temporary.
It's like saying the whole world needs to drink from one fountain. There are different fountains.
But I would be quite happy when we reach the mentioned block space problem in the next 3 years.
