Wow.

Where? All EU? WTF this measure seems as ridiculous as end with end to end encryption... No one can stop my ollama πŸ¦™

Yes, but they can ban your company from using chatgpt or other llms. (It's for business not for private use)

Good thing we're not companies, we're just people doing things, that somehow works, and maybe sometimes sort of maybe makes money.

I haven't read the article yet, I can't translate it rn, but in going to venture my self to say that probably just for business with a licence right? What about paid DVMs, or an autonomous agentic systems? I think this is shot tbh

I think it's rather vague, which is even worse because you can only do it wrong then. 🫠

How exactly? Are they going to do DNS blocking and do it selectively based on whether you have a license or something? I am sure that will go down well. What about people learning and learning techniques against the APIs using langchain and such? Are they going to lock themselves out of all the productivity and innovation that is coming from there? What about using huggingface models on your own machines?

It's about companies, so I don't think it concerns your private usage. But probably you won't be able to use chatgpt or copilot without doing some workshop or whatever in a company.

In other words, the State is going to dictate what you are allowed to do with AI and what you are not allowed to. The curriculums are going to be regulated by government censors, you'll need a license to provide training etc.

It's like with Work Safety and Data Security.

New, mandatory online-tutorial incoming.

Exactly how are they going to control what people and companies do on their own computers? Why not call their bluff? AI horse is well out of the barn with a lot of the best innovation being open source.

The autocrats wanna have the AI advantage for themselves.

EU: "Beginning in February, you can only ..."

We: "Nah, fuck it."

European - You're a peein'

Germans really love rules it seems. Sad.

It's the EU.

My bad!

ItΒ΄s also the goverment, not the citizens

The EU is becoming more and more absurd and draconian. They even override member country elections if they don't like the results. Crazy.

It's like Europooreans don't even want productivity.
